The look: A rainbow of décor fills this enticing hotel with two spacious bars containing intriguing touches such as a nine meter fish-tank, a dazzling hand blown glass light sculpture and 1920s inspired opulent chez lounges.
The soundtrack: On Thursday nights the Pacific Penthouse bar is transformed into Cabaret @ Moskaba. A Russian theme provides a red hot backdrop for sultry tunes. Otherwise it’s groovy lounge tunes on the deluxe sound system.
Signature drink: The White Chocolate Martini ($22.50) is Level Vodka, White Crème de Cacao and dry vermouth, topped with white chocolate snowflakes.
Bar snacks: The Salt and Pepper Squid ($16.80) is a deliciously generous serving. The Taste Sensations Plate ($18pp) has a tempting selection such Thai mango chicken in wonton cups.
Best for: Glamorous yet unpretentious nights out with special dates and cool groups of mates.
Wow factor: The Pacific Penthouse Diamond Bracelet Cocktail is a classic gin martini with an unexpected 8.3 carat forty-one piece diamond bracelet side dish and a sparkling $16,800 price tag.
If this bar were an animal it would be: A sleek tropical fish – cool and easy flowing.
