Sloaney Pony

The look: Sloaney Pony creates the feel of lived-in grandeur with a French-Venetian flavour. The weathered exterior hides sparkling chandeliers, rich drapery and recycled chateau gates.
The great outdoors: No venue is complete these days without a rooftop terrace and Sloaney Pony should by now be putting the finishing touches on hers.
To drink: Choose from a solid selection of beers, wines and mixed drinks which offer the most fun. Champagne cocktails ($16.50 each) don’t skimp on the sparkling, using vintage Chandon. Meanwhile, lovers of more savoury beverages will appreciate the Bloody Mary menu and all its spicy variations.
To eat: Bar snacks such as crispy duck pancakes and braised oxtail pies ($7 per serve) as well as more substantial plates. Head to the dining room for more refined feasting.
Bar soundtrack: Ranges from upbeat Latin house to cool live jazz. Best for: Everything from a business lunch to a Friday night knees up.
